Role: UX Researcher, UX Designer
Timeline: 10 weeks, 2 Design Sprints
Tools Used: Figma, Usertesting.com, Jitter, Miro, Asana, Illustrator
Design Challenge
Design a platform that instantly matches volunteers with nearby, verified opportunities fitting their schedule and interests, while giving nonprofits a simple tool to post and manage needs to keep good intentions from stalling at search.
The Problem
Volunteers struggle to find suitable roles due to fragmented information, creating a high‑friction process that leads to drop‑offs. Nonprofits, in turn, face unreliable support and unfilled roles.
Frustrations Observed Through Primary Research
User Groups
1. Students & young adults - Want short, meaningful opportunities around studies or part‑time work.
2. Busy professionals - Have limited free time and need high‑impact opportunities that fit specific windows with minimal planning overhead.
3. Community coordinators - Need a fast, lightweight way to post opportunities, recruit, and communicate with volunteers without complex tooling or extra admin work.
